Emboldened with the musical production of Joel Chambers, GREAT THINGS is a testament of God’s power manifested in Londa’s life. “I have a different perspective on what is possible and what is God’s purpose and destiny for my life,” says Londa. “I am a woman who is persuaded that her God is unshakable, unmovable and unstoppable!” Londa’s ability to vocally impact hearts is profound and in the remake of Phillips, Craig & Dean classic “You Are God Alone”, a powerful acoustic duet with Peter Moncrieffe, Londa manages to flawlessly wrap the sound of worship around the soul of every fan. GREAT THINGS won the Gospel Music Association for Canada Award for “Best Gospel Album of the Year 2012”. While the music transcends your traditional gospel, the lyrics are quite clear that she’s talking about NOBODY, but Jesus! Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, to loving Jamaican parents, Ethan and Evan, Londa’s childhood is characterized by Gospel music and service. Alongside her musician father and brothers, Londa was singing at church since the age of 7, and performing professionally since 14, as a member of Toronto’s renowned Youth Outreach Mass Choir. Londa continued her musical career as part of the Gospel Soul Sisters before joining the internationally acclaimed Sharon Riley & Faith Chorale.
Londa’s powerful voice led her to appear in the blockbuster film, The Blues Brothers 2000. Under the direction of John Landis, Londa performed in the film and recorded the Grammy nominated, Certified Gold (U.S.) soundtrack alongside musical icons Aretha Franklin, Erykah Badu, James Brown, Sam Moore, Taj Mahal, Bo Diddley, Isaac Hayes, Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton. She also performed in the Tony Award-Winning Musical Caroline or Change, where she was nominated for “Best Female Performance in a Musical”. Under the direction of Robert McQueen, Londa worked alongside well-known actors, such as, Arlene Duncan (Little Mosque On The Prairie – TV) and Shawn Wright (Jersey Boys and Mamma Mia – Theatre). Caroline or Change won the Dora Award for “Outstanding Production of a Musical”.
And now Londa is currently touring with a new cast, from the powerful theatrical Melody of Deception, under the direction of Dr. Elaine Brown-Spencer. Her solo debut album, LOVE LETTERS, established Londa as a one of Canada’s Gospel music trailblazers with international acclaim. A winner of the Canadian Urban Music Awards for Best Gospel Recording, GMA Dove Awards nominee for “Urban Album of the Year” and a JUNO Award nominee for “Best Gospel Album of the Year”, Love Letters, introduced a new genre of soulful-jazz and urban-pop grooves that marked the beginning of a legacy, which Londa continues today with GREAT THINGS.
